Holiday Greetings!

I just wanted to tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving! This year's day of thanks I have a lot to be thankful for. I am always happy about festive celebrations but we should also take a mental note of what the reality of this holiday is.

Being part Lakota it has always angered me. Native Americans taught the pilgrims how to fish and hunt the Massachusetts lands and in return they were persecuted, killed off, and hunted to smaller territories.Being an animal lover since I was young and a vegetarian now I hate that there is an entire species breed for basically just one time of year.

And although there are so many reasons for me to boycott the holiday, if there is one reason for me to celebrate, eat and be with those I love I will join in the festivities. I am very thankful to be where I am, know who I know and loved by those around me and abroad. I am thankful to be privileged enough to be where I am and will never forget that.

To all, Blessed Be;
Nila
